Welcome

Two kilometres from Kaza, a world away from the highway.

Spiti Valley is a high-altitude cold desert of raw ochre cliffs and whitewashed villages, and Ochre sits right on its main artery — easy to reach, but built to feel like it's always been here.

Every room is finished in the same mud-and-stone construction used across the valley for centuries, warmed properly for nights that drop well below freezing, and looks out over either our courtyard or the ridge beyond.

Dining

A short menu, shaped by the valley

Thukpa, thenthuk, and seabuckthorn tea sit alongside familiar North Indian dishes on a small, seasonal menu — cooked in an open kitchen, served around long wooden tables.

About Ochre

Built the way the valley builds

Ochre grew from a single restored family home in Shego, in the same mud-and-stone construction as its neighbours, run by a majority-local team on solar-assisted power.
