Getting to Pin Valley

Pin Valley branches south from the main Spiti road and narrows into a dramatic gorge of red and ochre rock, eventually opening into the Pin Valley National Park — habitat for snow leopard, Siberian ibex, and the Himalayan snowcock.

The villages of Mudh and Kungri, at the valley's end, are known for their distinctive Buchen tradition of masked dance and are a good base for short treks, including the classic Pin–Parvati trekking route in summer.
